A downloadable game

"Melon Realms" is a 2D multi-level platformer game. You play as an adventurer who is tasked to collect the slices of the Great Watermelon which are scattered throughout different realms. Different realms can be explored as the adventurer overcome different traps and obstacles along the way. Reach the World Roots at the edge of each realm to be transported into a new one, each more dangerous than the last.  And find all the pieces of the Great Watermelon to make it whole once again! 

My original TTRPG concept was very reliant on turn based combat and paying attention to a certain amount of HP. For this digital prototype, it is single player, and when the player dies, they must restart the level all over again. Where both games share a similarity in are its exploration aspects. Both games bring the players through various areas within the game before reaching the end goal. My personal preference when it comes to games are ones where you can travel and explore different areas, which is the main aspect I wanted for both my games. I've also have an interest in 2D platform games in a pixelated style. My main inspiration of the game was a mix between Mario and the Deltarune/Undertale series, while adding my own aesthetic. The main aesthetic leaning towards something bright and cute.
